SWFUpload with cPanel and mod_security

I searched long and hard to find what was causing swfupload to fail on my cPanel, but work on my test environment so I thought I better save the result incase I need it again.

Edit /etc/httpd/conf/js_modsecurity/useragents.conf. Simply remove the line below, or comment it out by putting a # in front of it.

SecRule HTTP_User-Agent  "^Shockwave Flash"

  • Allowed HTML tags: <b> <br> <p> <a> <strong> <cite> <em> <code> <ul> <ol> <li> <dl> <dt> <dd>
  • Web page addresses and e-mail addresses turn into links automatically.
  • Lines and paragraphs break automatically.

  • You can enable syntax highlighting of source code with the following tags: <code>, <blockcode>, <css>, <diff>, <drupal5>, <html>, <javascript>, <php>. Beside the tag style "<foo>" it is also possible to use "[foo]". PHP source code can also be enclosed in <?php ... ?> or <% ... %>.
